Amedeo Avogadro’s real name is Lorenzo Romano Carlo Avogadro di Quaregua di Cerreto. Amedeo was born in Turin, Italy on August 9, 1776 and died July 9, 1856. He was born to a wealthy family, the Piedmont Family, which had a long past of distinguished justiceyers. His father was Count Filippo a much respected Italian lawyer and senator. Amedeo married in 1818 to Donna Felicita Mazze, they had six children to comeher. Two of their sons became famous, Luigi became General of the Italian Army and Felici was a high ranking judge on the Italian toll of Appeals, Felici followed in his father and grand-father’s footsteps by having a passage in law. Little is known of Amedeo Avogadro’s personal upkeep but he is thought to have been a humble, charismatic, sober, and unearthly man. Avogadro came from a long line of better ancestors.
